High Five For Friday!

Photobucket

IT'S THAT TIME AGAIN :D

1. Randy's cousin John comes home from the Middle East (ARMY) in 2 weeks! We have already planned an awesome trip to B. Gardens!
2. I got this adorable print of a mermaid with a seahorse, kinda excited to frame it!
3. Hash Brown Casserole! So yummy, I'll be posting this under my recipe section for sure!
4. Okay. ANYONE who knows me knows I'm obsessed with seafoam green, so when I found this lovely fabric in Chevron AND Seafoam Green...I just knew that something special was in store for it. I think I'm going to make a really lovely throw for our bed.
5. My adorable lil god-daughters. I miss them and wish I could see them more often, but they are just the cutest darn things that ever were!

This weekend should be lots of fun!
Tonight I'm tutoring my favorite student, and then I'm off to have some fun with Randy's family.
Tomorrow Randy and I both have off, so we can relax and actually sleep in for once!
I'll probably get the mountain of laundry I have completed.
Then Saturday night his cousin Chris and his wife Cat are coming over for Game Night!
(aka drink lots of beer and wine and play games)
Sunday will be absolutely lazy, I plan on doing nothing. Nothing at all.
I'm going to lay in bed and read books and probably work on making said throw blanket.

<3 hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

MY FIRST FOLLOWER!

Well Skittles!
I've got my first follower!!!!
(I know. I couldn't believe it either!)
Finally I don't feel like I'm talking to myself anymore!

Now. I won't lie.
At first I was like "oh no...what is my first follower like!?"
What if they are totally dull, or worse what if they are the exact opposite of everything I'm about?!
What if my first follower post had to be about someone who was a crack enthusiast?!
....thankfully my first follower is EVERYTHING I'm about.
She is funny, smart, silly, witty, and did I mention funny?
I was giggling the entire time I stalked her blog.

So seriously. Follow Her.
Now.
(I'm hoping that someone else other than her at least READS my blog)
Otherwise I'm sorry Bonnie. I've done my best.

Share a Prayer!

My Nana is pretty much the rock of our family, she is my biggest support and she has never shown anything but unconditional love for us kids.

The past year she has been battling Melanoma and recently we received some pretty discouraging news. However we have not given up hope!
I believe that God will grace us and provide her with the strength she needs in order to be in that
8% Survivor Rate!
I won't even think about another option.
I am praying heavily and I would love if you all would take a moment and share a prayer for her, she is a beautiful woman inside and out and I just know that her time here with us is not going to be short!
I would also like to ask God to relieve our heavy hearts and make them light, so that we too can be filled with positive thoughts and energy to help make her battle easier!

If you would like to post a message of healing or read more about her story, her recovery website is:

Idle Tidings

First and Foremost:
I realized yesterday I didn't have a follow button on my blog!
(I'm telling myself that this is the reason why I don't have any followers despite having 100 page views yesterday)
But rest assured, you can all stop fretting! I've now added a lovely join button right under my pinterest!
Enjoy

THINGS THAT OCCURRED IN THE PAST 24 HOURS:
This is Callie.
Callie is a very voluptuous animal that resides with my Nana.
She is a complete floozy.

So this is a little embarrassing but I was singing quite loudly to Celine Dion's Pandora station on my way to work yesterday, when out of nowhere this lovely little diddy came on!
Pretty much made my morning.
It also made me want to spend $10 on The Lion King DVD.

90 degrees at 10:38pm is gross.
Today is supposed to be 105, which means that tonight will be even hotter.
Thank goodness we have air conditioning!

BUBBLE BREAD!
I'm trying this recipe out this evening if I can score some butterscotch pudding.
(if not we might have to substitute vanilla)

Letting the love of my life know that he is loved.
(Have to be cute about it you know)

Things I Hope To Accomplish Today:
1. I'm going to try and not spend a fortune on 31 Products.
I can't help it though. They are fabulous.
And they make my life a thousand times easier.
Check Out The Amazingness

2. I'm going to try and make Chili's Chicken Enchilada Soup using this lovely recipe:

Me, Myself, and I Link Up Party!

Okay. So I'm slightly obsessed with this new Link Up Party!
If you haven't checked it out yet take a little trip to Danielle's blog here!

Anyway so now let me begin!

What is your biggest phobia?
As I've mentioned before I'm absolutely terrified of flying, I just KNOW that I'm going to die in a horrific plane crash and I don't understand why no one believes me!

If you could relive any day of your life, what would it be and why?
I think I would want to relive the day that Randy first told me he loved me. It was such a special and intimate moment. And it truly was the most precious blessing that I've ever been given.
I'll hold onto that moment forever.

If you could choose to stay a certain age forever, what age would it be?
I would love to be 25 forever!
(I'm not even 25 yet lol)
But I just feel like its the perfect age, you're still young yet you're old enough to be taken seriously.

Which celebrity do you get mistaken for?

I never ever get mistaken for a celebrity, I guess I just have a unique face or something?!
Maybe I'm weird. I don't know.
...when I had my hair really short someone once said I looked like Ellen Degeneres....not sure how to feel about that haha.

What songs are included on the soundtrack to your life?
Our Song: Brandy Carlisle - The Story

My Favorite Break-Up Song: Stars - Your Ex-Lover is Dead

Father/Daughter Song:  Paul Simon - Father Daughter

Mother/Daughter Song: Patsy Cline - Crazy

Feel Good Country Song: Diamond Rio - Meet In The Middle

Wedding Song: Sleeping At Last - Turning Pages

Heartstrings Song: Eva Cassidy - Songbird

Dance Song: Dan Balan - Chica Bomb

Moody: Lana Del Rey - Born To Die

WHEW!
And That's Some FunTime Facts About Me!
Okay so I feel really bad that I didn't update at all this past weekend, and I also feel pretty bad that I didn't do the dresser.
So I promise that I'll do much better this week!

THIS WEEKEND:

I took my BLS Healthcare Provider Course! It was interesting to say the least...but on the plus side I can now save a life :)

Meal Planning.
I've begun planning all our meals out for the month, it saves us a ton of money on groceries and I never have to wonder what I'm going to make when I get home, I know I have all the ingredients and I know that we are getting all our fruits and veggies in!
(except on Steakum night..that is purely a heart attack waiting to happen)

Randy and I had a rough Friday evening, which left us both brooding for a little bit. I decided to go and get sushi, and let me tell you those delicious little fish made me feel instantly better
(and maybe the fact that Randy and I kissed and made up helped as well)
But seriously if you haven't tried Yama Sushi in Annapolis you're missing out!

So a couple months ago my Nana told me about how she tried this recipe called crock pot lasagna, and I had to give it a try myself...unbelievable, it was cheesy delicious goodness!
If you want the recipe just comment below and I'll be glad to post it :)

Our budget has been so tight lately, so I can't get my nails done like I used too, so I've been practicing my self manicure and I have to admit I'm getting better and better each time :D
I'm in love with this OPI color "Italian Love Affair"
It's the perfect baby pink with a touch of peach!
Super Shiny too!

All in all this weekend was relaxing and wonderful, Randy and I don't get too much quality time together so we were really grateful.
And although Randy and I had a couples spat on Friday, I've learned that all couples will fight, its just how you fight and how you make up that make the difference.
I have to say that I'm blessed to have such a wonderful man in my life who has the patience to handle me and gives me all the space I need in order to cool off and regroup.

Weekend Refurb Fail!

Okay...so I didn't get time to paint the dresser this weekend. Instead these are some things I did get done:

7/11/12

WEEKEND PROJECT!

Alright, so I've been begging Randy to help me refurbish our boring IKEA dresser:

DULL. BLAND.
Totally not us!

These fantastic refurbs are going to be inspiration this weekend!
I'm thinking of doing a pattern on just the drawer faces
in the burnt reddish color below:

The Pattern/Stencil's I've Considered:

I'm kind of partial to the fish-scales, for some reason it's really standing out to me!
Let me know what you think

Hawaii!

HAWAII!

Randy and I recently went to Hawaii with my family for TWO whole weeks! I know, rough life right?
The only problem with this vacation was that I am absolutely terrified of flying, like I am the worst flyer you can imagine. You know those Newscast where the passenger had to be subdued? Yea. That's Me.
But....My family did try and distract me:

I survived the first flight, where we landed in L.A. (my father was kind enough to break up the trips for me with multiple flights and "city stays")
Our first "City Stay" was in Santa Monica, I loved it! It was such a cute little town, and our hotel couldn't have been more charming :)
Venice Beach I could have done without, there were some serious characters there!
But my little sister and Randy got to dip their toes in the water (I was still recovering from the flight, needless to say I was too busy kissing the ground)

The next morning we embarked on our trip to Honolulu!
We arrived in the early afternoon with plans to go to Pearl Harbor, however we didn't know that tickets had to be purchased in advance and by the time we got there, they were all sold out *super sad face*
We got to swim a little, and we drank lots of fruity drinks at a local tiki bar, and when we said farewell in the morning, Honolulu gave us this beautiful Rainbow!

Next Stop: MAUI!
Maui was by far my favorite Island, it was the perfect mix of nightlife activities and daytime relaxation, we thoroughly enjoyed all the drinkydrinks and desserts :)
The craziest thing we did however was jump off Black Rock, it's this rock in Maui that was used by the Natives to prove their manhood (I guess that makes me worthy?)
It was really hard to swim out to because of the rough surf and then it was a very difficult climb, we had to pull ourselves up, and poor Randy was barefoot and lost a good chunk of his pinky toe, but it was totally worth it, it was about 25ft above the surf and you just leaped out from the ledge!

So Scary!

After our lovely stay in Maui we were off to meet my grandparents in Kauai, it was absolutely beautiful there but there wasn't a lot to do aside from relax.

Last Stop Was Vegas where we won $127.50 off .25 cents! We also saw Cirque De Soleil :)

And that was our lovely vacation
Hopefully we win the lottery and can return once more:

P.S. I hiked this flippin mountain, and lemme tell ya it was no walk in the park!

First Post!

Alright, this is going to be a little bit of a lackluster first post but I'm all for trial and error!

This is me:

These two boys are my life:

About Us:
We just moved into our house in March, and I absolutely love our little cottage! We are renting for now which is a pain in the butt when it comes to making it feel like my own. I wish I could paint, and add some built in shelving, but for now this blog will be my post on how I make this adorable little rental place feel like "OURS"
My little family currently resides in Annapolis, however who knows where the future will take us!

What My Blog Will Be About:
This little blog will be mostly about my day to day life, keeping our families updated about cool things we may be doing, or the random things that happen throughout my day! It will also be a place where I will post about crafts I may be working on, or redecorating projects! This weekend we are re-furbishing our IKEA dressers so that should make for a really great post!

Alright folks. I think I can wrap up the introductory post here and move on to my Hawaii post!
